Du bois W.E.B. 'Negro'

 

 

Du bois W.E.B. has lived a long time.

He was born in 1868 after the end of the Civil War.

So he lived till 95 years old.

In 1868, it was the time of reconstruction.

At the time of reconstruction, Africa-Americans were golden age.

Then in 1877, South and North have Great Compromise.

In the South, they decided to do development and needed black men's labor to plant.

So, in the South, there was a white supremacy.

At that time, he was transferred to Harvard University as a third year student.

He studied philosophy.

And he studied social sciences at a social graduate school.

After that he went to Germany for 2 yrars.

And he taught Latin and Greek.

His age of 47, he published the book 'Negro'.

The hottest year of McCarthyism, in 1950, he was judged as a Soviet spy.

However, he wa acquitted.

And then he joined the Communist Party.

He won the Lenin Peace Prize.

He is writing and lecturing in the us.

He was invited at the age of 93 in Ghana.

He lived there and died at his age of 95.

Booker T. Washington asserted that let white people make to us.

on the other hand, Du bois is an excellent person who emphasizes the need to study,

fight, and find black's identity for the rights of Negroes in the U.S.
